One of the main tasks set before the Belarusian agro-industrial complex is to fill domestic shelves, including pork products. At the same time, in addition to saturating the domestic market and increasing export potential, it is necessary to work on reducing production costs. Yes, we are talking about the intensification of the industry. Among the measures we are taking is improving feed production and making fodder cheaper through more active use of local resources. Since imported raw materials are not affordable for every farm, first of all due to a price factor, there is an excellent alternative - organic sapropels from the "Udhodva" deposit in the Pruzhany region, extracted by the ALC "Agrosemproduct".

Experiments were carried out by the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Scientific and Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus on Animal Husbandry" in the conditions of the pig-breeding school-farm of SE "ZhodinoAgroPlemElita" of Smolevichi district. The studies were supervised by the head of the pig feeding laboratory, candidate of agricultural sciences Linkevich Sergey Aleksandrovich. Three groups of Belarusian meat breed were determined for the experiment: weaned piglets (Table 1), growing pigs (Table 2) and young fattening pigs (Table 3).
- During the studies, it was noted that in all three experiments, a higher increase in live weight was observed in those groups where sapropel was added to the diet. Inclusion of sapropel into the pigs' diet allowed replacing up to 6 percent of grain in the mixed fodder. In addition, it was visually observed that these piglets were more willing to eat the mixed fodder and were more active. It is important to note that no sick or stunted animals were detected, and the mixed fodder fed in all three trials fully met the requirements of these groups.

Positive dynamics was also observed in economic calculations.

In the first experiment (Table 1) the value of additional conditional profit per group when introducing 1% and 2% of sapropel was 17,98 and 2,36 rubles or 7,02 and 0,92 dollars respectively (exchange rate on November 26, 2020).

In the third experiment (Table 3), the value of the additional conditional profit per group when introducing 6 percent of sapropel was 10.77 rubles or $4.21 (exchange rate as of November 26, 2020).

The fact is that sapropel introduced into the diet stimulates the body's defenses, improving the immune function of animals. As a result, the frequency of digestive disorders is significantly reduced, there is a weakening of acute intoxication. Having a protective effect on the mucous membrane of the stomach, humic acids reduce inflammation and thus improve the absorption of nutrients. That is, the efficiency of feed increased due to the antimicrobial action of sapropel on pathogenic intestinal microflora. Its regular feeding increases the resistance of pigs to toxic hepatitis, stomach ulcers, hypercholesterolemia. In addition, the supplement helps prevent the transmission of foot and mouth disease in pigs. What is interesting, sapropel significantly improves the quality of meat, increasing its marbling and at the same time reducing the layer of ridge fat.

In fact, the whole secret is that nature has already invented everything for us: it's just a matter of applying these resources competently in agricultural production.
